Subject: Registered Traveler Program Issues
It appears that the U.S. Registered Traveler program (RT) will get under way in early 2007 and that the EU and other governments around the world are actively evaluating the program.
The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) and the Business Travel Coalition (BTC) are collaborating to develop a comprehensive list of questions, issues and concerns on the minds of corporate travel buyers considering the RT program. Our purpose is to ensure that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and other governments, have all of the relevant corporate customer information to allow the implementation of a program that is both useful to the business community and responsive to its unique requirements.
As you know, there may be legal, human resource, financial, privacy, travel policy and operational implications associated with implementing a RT program and we believe that your views should be taken into account before final decisions are taken.
If you would like to contribute to this initiative, please visit http://www.AdvancedSurvey.com/default.asp?SurveyID=45423
to provide your comments by the close of business on Wednesday, November 15. ACTE and BTC will analyze and share the preliminary results with survey participants by Wednesday, November 22.
Thereafter, several organizations including the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), RT vendors, the Air Transport Association (ATA) and Airports Council International (ACI) will be asked for their responses and input on open issues.
A final report will be published on or before December 8 and transmitted to the TSA and relevant Transportation and Homeland Security Committees of the U.S. Congress.
