Travelogue use policy

Travelogue subscriptions are intended for individuals. Usernames and passwords must be protected and not shared with anyone. To do so would risk a Member’s status. The BTC Membership program is protected against fraud via Bandwidth Sentinel. Please read the description below before deciding to become a Member. If you require a site license for Travelogueplease contact BTC.

Bandwidth Sentinel is a Perl written program designed to provide several security enhancements to BTC’s Membership services.  It monitors IP address usage, Bandwidth usage and additional login information. Sentinel monitors and reports login by IP or domain name.

Should a Member’s username & password become publicized, Sentinel will remove the offending username from the active password list and either totally remove the offending account or change its password.

Upon suspicious account activity Bandwidth Sentinel will:

  • remove the offending username and password;
  • change the Member’s password;
  • email the Member his / her new username and password; and
  • put the new password into BTC’s database so the Member can have access with the new username & password.

This is allowed to happen up to 5 times.  On the 6th time, the Member is removed from the system and will be denied access to all Member areas.
